16.12.2009: Next Indo-German student round table

The next Indo-German student round table is round the corner. It takes place on 16.12.2009 at 7 p.m. at the Filmclub mittendrin (Reichheinerstraße 35/37) in the basement.

This time, Ms. Claudia Kirbach from the Department of Intercultural Communication will give a deeper insight into the daily cultural differences in India from a German perspective and discuss a few common situations.

4.12.2009: First Indo-German conference on packaging printing was a great success

Almost 100 participants and official guests took part in the first Indo-German conference on Technology Trends and Developments in Packaging Printing on 3rd December 2009 in Mumbai. The conference was jointly organised by Graphic Arts Technology and Education (Mumbai, India) and the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology (Chemnitz, Germany) under the auspicious of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.

On 3rd December 2009, the leading printing consultant in India, Mr. Kiran Prayagi from Graphic Arts Technology and Education, Mumbai, and the Institute for Print and Media Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany host the first Indo-German packaging conference.

29.11.-1.12.09: Prof. Hübler and team visit Manipal University

From 29th November to 1st December 2009, Prof. Hübler, Dr. Gert Schlegel and Paritosh Prayagi visited Manipal University. The main purpose of this visit was to discuss the planned Indo-German training centre and open issues related to the exchange of students coming to India for the joint double degree programme.

11.11.2009: 2nd Indo-German student Stammtisch is round the corner!

On Wednesday, 11.11.09 we all will watch the movie "Outsourced". It is a hilarious comedy about the experiences of an American in an Indian working environment. His experiences in India, cultural differences which are strange and funny at the beginning, but later on he starts to fall in love with the country and its people.

7.11.2009: New Head at the Department of Printing and Media Engineering at Manipal University

Prof. Dr. Girish Kumar Sharma has recently resigned from the position Head of the Department of Printing and Media Engineering at Manipal University and Prof. Dr. Prakash Shetty has taken over the charge from him.

15.10.2009: Scholarships for Bachelor students -- Call for applications open until 15 October

The pmTUC (supported by the DAAD) awards scholarships for Bachelor students of “Media Production“ in Chemnitz, Germany and “Printing and Media Technology“ in Manipal, India who want to write their Bachelor thesis at the partner university or do an internship with a company in the partner country.

14.10.2009: 1st Indo-German student round table takes place in the “Club der Kulturen” (Thüringer Weg 3) on Wednesday, 14 October at 7 p.m.

The 1st Indo-German student round table takes place in the “Club der Kulturen” (Thüringer Weg 3) on Wednesday, 14 October at 7 p.m. The roundtable wants to bring together German and Indian students to discuss life and culture in both countries in an enjoyable atmosphere.

13.10.2009: Information session on double degree Master's programme and Bachelor grants

On Thuesday, 13 October 2009 the introductory information session for first semester Master students of the programme Media Production takes place at 1.45 pm in Reichenhainer Straße 70, room N101. In the course of the session you will also get information on the double degree Master's programme, which is jointly offered by Chemnitz University and Manipal University in India.

01.10.2009: First double degree student from Manipal University comes to Chemnitz

With the start of the new winter semester, the pmTUC welcomes the first Master student from Manipal University. Ms. Minu Karumanthra Peethambaren will study at Chemnitz University for two semesters within the joint double degree programme.

1.10.2010: BMBF project meeting

On 1st October 2009, Dr.-Ing. Gert Schlegel and Paritosh Prayagi went to Bonn/Oberkassel for an exchange of experiences with other participants of the BMBF initiative “India and Germany – Strategic Partners for Innovation”.

25.09.2010: Visit to Heidelberg Print Media Academy, Chennai

During his visit to Chennai in September 2009, Prof. Hübler had deep discussions with Prof. Dr. Rajendrakumar Anayath, Head of the Heidelberg Print Media Academy (PMA), regarding the potential of the Indian industry, cooperation in research and education.

19.-30.09.2009: Coordination trip to India

At the end of September, Prof. Hübler and Sylvia Strauß visit Manipal University to discuss open questions concerning the joint double degree Master’s programme and the scholarship pool for German and Indian Bachelor students.

18.09.2009: The pmTUC proudly presents the first pmIndia-Newsletter.

The pmIndia newsletter contains information about the pmTUC's current India activities in cooperation, research and education. In the first issue you may find news WAN-IFRA's new special report, scholarship programmes for Bachelor and Master students, the first Indo-German conference on packaging printing and many more! In the future, the pmIndia-Newsletter is published once a month to keep you up-to-date.

26./28.08.2009: Information sessions on double degree Master’s programme, higher education opportunities, the pmTUC and its research activities in Mumbai, India

On August, 26 and 28, Mr. Paritosh Prayagi, staff member and student at the Institute for Print and Media Technology, gives information sessions on the joint double degree Master’s Programme of Chemnitz University of Technology and Manipal University, higher education opportunities at the pmTUC, the pmTUC and its research activities.

April 2009: WAN-IFRA special report on "New Printing Plants" published

The first joint research project of the pmTUC and Manipal University has been finished successfully. The project, which ran from February 2008 to February 2009, was concerned with the question if there are standardised planning concepts for the establishment of new newspaper printing plants in India.
